Property owners around Elgin are most of who calls us.
Elgin sits where blackland prairie meets the post oak country of Bastrop County.
Bastrop County is the Lost Pines — sandy soil and loblolly pine standing where you would not expect it, mixed with post oak savannah.
Most tracts near Elgin are some mix of cedar, brush and grass that got away from somebody.
What we do around Elgin
All six services run here. Forestry mulching for cedar and brush that has taken a tract over. Full land clearing when you need bare workable ground for a build, a pasture or a road. Dirt work for tanks, pads and drainage, and driveway construction from the gate in. Shredding to keep ground that is already open from going back. A 30-yard roll-off when a job throws off debris that has to leave.
Which one you need usually comes down to what is standing there now and what you want when we are finished. If you are not sure, describe it on the phone and we will tell you. There is no advantage to us selling you a heavier service than the ground calls for.
Getting equipment in
We haul a tracked skid steer on a gooseneck trailer, so access is the first practical question on any job. We need a gate and a path wide enough to get the rig in, and ground firm enough to put it down on. Most properties are fine; the ones that are not usually have a narrow gate or a soft low spot at the entrance.
If you are not sure yours works, send a photo of the entrance when you call. It takes a minute and saves a wasted trip.
Scheduling
Wet ground stops heavy equipment faster than anything else. After a long rain the schedule shifts, and if your job moves you will hear it from us rather than find out by watching an empty driveway. Through most of the year we work Monday through Saturday.
Tell us the acreage and what you want the ground to look like afterward.
